Choir
Our school choir gives students who love to sing the opportunity to develop their confidence, teamwork and performance skills. Choir members perform at special school assemblies and community events, includingMassed Choir and One Big Voice, where they have the chance to showcase their talents and shine on stage.
Garden
Don’s Brookman Project Garden is located on the Brookman Avenue side of the school and is home to a range of vegetables from around the world. Students grow and care for the garden, with produce exchanged for recyclable cans through Don’s Recycling Project—helping the environment while raising funds for our school.
Craft
Craft Club is a creative space where students make miniature houses, quilled designs, paper flowers and calligraphy pieces. Along the way, they develop their fine motor skills, attention to detail and artistic talents while creating beautiful handmade crafts.
Sewing Club
Students learn both hand-sewing techniques and how to safely use a sewing machine while creating a range of projects. One of our favourite activities is designing and making clothes for teddy bears, allowing students to bring their ideas to life while developing practical sewing skills.
FIRST Lego League Challenge
Each year, a team of selected Year 5 and 6 students proudly represent Brookman Primary School in the FIRST Lego League Challenge, a global STEM competition that inspires students to explore science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on learning.
Students work collaboratively to design, build and program a Lego robot to complete a series of missions on a themed competition table. They also research a real-world problem related to the annual challenge theme and develop an innovative solution, which they present to a panel of judges.
The competition encourages students to think creatively, solve complex problems and develop valuable skills in teamwork, communication, critical thinking and resilience. Throughout the season, students embrace the FIRST Core Values, demonstrating collaboration, respect and gracious professionalism while learning from one another and celebrating each other’s successes.
Participation in the FIRST Lego League Challenge provides students with an exciting opportunity to apply their learning in authentic ways, build confidence in STEM, and represent Brookman Primary School with pride.
FIRST Lego League Explore
Each year, selected Year 4 and 5 students represent Brookman Primary School in the FIRST Lego League Explore program, an engaging STEM experience that introduces students to the exciting world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through hands-on learning.
Working in small teams, students investigate a real-world topic based on the annual FIRST Lego League theme. They design and build a Lego model featuring moving parts powered by Lego Education technology and create a team poster to showcase their research, design process and learning journey.
Brookman Primary School is proud to host a FIRST LEGO League Explore Showcase, welcoming teams from local schools to celebrate their achievements. Unlike a traditional competition, the showcase is a collaborative event where students share their models and ideas, participate in fun STEM activities, and receive feedback from reviewers who recognise each team’s creativity, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
