Children are supervised from 8.30am to 2.35pm each day. If they arrive or are picked up outside of these hours, supervision cannot be guaranteed. There is no playing of games before or after school.
If parents know they are going to be late picking up a child, they must contact Administration.
Hours of instruction are:
Gates Open – 8:15 am
First Siren – 8.30 am
Morning Recess – 10.30 am – 10.50 am
Lunch Break – 12.50 pm – 1.25 pm
Final Siren – 2.35 pm
Administration hours are 8.00am – 3.00pm each day.
Absent from school
We request that if your child is absent you advise the office via the school’s communication system – Compass, in writing or email Brookman.ps@education.wa.edu.au
An SMS is sent to advise parents that, according to school records, the student is absent and no reason has been provided to the school. It is a legal requirement for parents to contact the school about any student absences or reasons for lateness. If an explanation for the absence has been provided before 9.30AM each morning, parents will not receive an SMS.
All holidays taken outside of normal school holiday breaks are to be placed in writing to the Principal for approval via email to brookman.ps@education.wa.edu.au or by messaging with your vacation leave and return dates.
Late arrival to school
We encourage you to assist your child by being punctual in their attendance and arrive to class before 8:30am. Students arriving late for any reason must go to Administration to collect a Late Note and advise staff of any reason for lateness.
